When Kirsten impulsively tampers with her contraception, she doesn't really expect that pregnancy will result, and when it does, doesn't know how to tell her partner. Explores themes of modern relationships, the biological clock phenomenon, and contemporary consumer culture. Author has won the Association for the Study of Australian Literature Gold Medal and the Victorian Premier's Literary Award for Fiction.
